Eliot Krimsky and Mike Johnson of Brooklyn band Glass Ghost hit the studio recently to record a new version of “Like a Diamond,” a single off their 2009 LP, Idol Omen, with one of our favorite up-and-coming singers, Sharon Van Etten, on lead vocals. While the updated Wurlitzer and drum-backed take stays true to the original, Van Etten’s stunning voice manages to evoke even more of a mournful mood from the poignant, elegiac tune.
