Our first listen to Director’s Cut, the new album of re-recorded songs off two classic LPs by Kate Bush, arrived this morning in the form of a lengthier take on 1989 The Sensual World cut “Deeper Understanding”—complete with a modern synthesizer backdrop, vocoder-effected vocals, and a zydeco-tinged harmonica solo in the coda. You can check out the official stream above, but here’s some more good news: “Kate Bush is currently working on her new album of brand new material,” reads a press release.
(Note: Bush invokes Sergei Eisenstein in the official press photo for the film-inspired project above.)
