Late last year, the inimitable David Lynch released two debut solo singles, a pair of catchy drum machine/synth-backed tunes laced with Lynch’s own effect-heavy vocals called “Good Day Today” and “I Know.” So what — I, for one, wondered — would one of the most unanimously respected filmmakers of the past few decades create for the songs’ video treatment? Instead of taking the logical step of simply directing the clips himself, Lynch (like his pal Moby) gave the public a chance to showcase their talents with an open call for originally produced music videos on Genero.tv.
A dozen or so finalists were chosen in December, but today, just 2 winners, receiving £2,000 each, were announced. Enjoy the work of all participants here and watch the Lynch-lauded entries below:
