Earlier this week, some exciting (yet apparently inaccurate) quotes from Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood in an interview with Rolling Stone Italia stormed the Web regarding the band’s eighth album. While news that Radiohead have “almost finished” a 10-track In Rainbows follow-up and are plotting a “big tour” for 2011 is certainly welcome, Greenwood took to the band’s Dead Air Space today to debunk the story:
I think this italian writer (referred to here) has, either through over-enthusiasm, or frustration at all my non-committal answers, mistranslated me a little….in fact we haven’t quite finished the album – in the studio at the moment – nor have we yet considered any touring. The plan is to have no plan until the record is finished….hope that’s a little clearer!
Something tells me we won’t be getting many more interviews from Radiohead members until the big LP8 reveal.
