In March of 2011, Noah and the Whale will release the follow-up to their 2009 LP, First Days of Spring, via Lost Club/Mercury Records. Speaking to Zane Lowe recently, frontman Charlie Fink revealed that the 10-track, 33-minute album, titled Last Night On Earth, was co-produced by Jason Lader — who produced Julian Casablancas’ recent solo debut, Phrazes for the Young — and was recorded primarily in Los Angeles, CA. Additional sessions were done at a synagogue in London’s Bethnal Green district.
Those are the only details unveiled thus far, but the good news is we’ll be getting a taste of the album shortly as the first single will begin airing on the radio next week. Noah and the Whale have also announced a 7-date string of concerts in the U.K. next year. Check out the itinerary and watch video from part of Fink’s chat with Lowe below:
