Mumford & Sons Cover Kinks w/ Ray Davies on TV + Hear Their ‘Wedding Band’

Ahead of a 21-date, sold-out tour of the U.S. kicking off Monday in Hollywood, Mumford & Sons stopped by Later with Jools Holland this week to perform with Ray Davies before embarking for the States. Performing a medley of the Kinks’ “Days” and “This Time Tomorrow” — which appear on Davies’ new collaborative tribute album alongside songs with the likes of Alex Chilton, Bruce Springsteen, and Spoon — Marcus Mumford led the folk-rock troupe through two rousing versions of the classics, exchanging lead vocals with the former Kinks frontman himself. A video of the performance is below.

Speaking of the upcoming Mumford tour, the band’s excellent limited-edition tour EP, The First Dance, on which they have recorded 4 new songs as The Wedding Band, has hit YouTube. Enjoy the aforementioned clip and opener, “Thumper,” after the jump.
