We’ve heard a few live previews as well as a free download of their Carey Mulligan-featuring single, and now a number of cuts off Belle & Sebastian’s excellent new album, Write About Love, have hit the Web. One song, “Little Lou, Prophet Jack, Ugly John,” I was particularly intrigued to hear as the duet with Norah Jones not only appears on their new LP, but on Jones’ forthcoming collaboration record, …Featuring, as well. Though I was hoping that Jones’ work with B&S would embrace the sound of the Glaswegian indie-pop troupe a bit more, this heartbreaking love song leans more toward her usual breezy jazz-pop fare with an apropos touch of twee.
Also reaching our ears today is the much more upbeat jam “Come On Sister,” posted by Some Kind of Awesome this morning. Stream both new tunes below:
