Earlier this month, we caught wind of a forthcoming Led Zeppelin tribute album featuring dozens of Pacific Northwest artists (M. Ward, Chris Walla, etc.), and now Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones are getting selections from their famous oeuvres covered by an impressive roster of indie stars, as well. First up is Subterranean Home Sick Blues: A Tribute to Bob Dylan’s Bringing It All Back Home, which includes versions of songs off the aforementioned 1965 classic LP (as well as other Dylan songs from that time period) by Castanets, J. Tillman, the Morning Benders, Laura Veirs, William Fitzsimmons, Sea Wolf, Peter Morén, and more.
ReImagine will release that record digitally on October 5, but the label has yet another notable release scheduled for the following month: Paint It Black: An Alt-Country Tribute to The Rolling Stones features new recordings by Great Lake Swimmers, Giant Sand, Everest, Matthew Ryan, Cowboy Junkies, the Handsome Family, and more. Those 13 tracks will arrive on November 9. Preview the full tracklist for Subterranean Home Sick Blues below.
