Remember that David Bowie tribute album (Repetition), which was slated to include covers by Radiohead, MGMT, France’s first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and many more back in January? Well, the tracklist is still pretty epic (no Radiohead, unfortch), 3 notable streams from the compilation are now available, and the 33-track record will officially drop on September 6 with all proceeds going to War Child International.
In the run-up to the fall release, however, Manimal Vinyl are previewing Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes’ “Memory of a Free Festival” cover, Vivian Girls taking on Bowie’s 1972 song “John, I’m Only Dancing,” and Berlin-era cut “Red Money” as covered by Swahili Blonde (featuring ex-Red Hot Chili Pepper John Frusciante).
