In retrospect, I’m afraid I didn’t give Johnny Flynn’s new album, Been Listening, justice when posting about “The Water”— a duet with Laura Marling — last month. In fact, every song on this LP is as good or better than that charming tune, as I’ve come to learn, so I won’t be letting a notable Flynn update slip under my radar anytime soon. For one, the guy’s humble, charismatic, and an endearingly bashful Bob Dylan fan who shared the stage with said poet laureate of rock last weekend.
