Almost exactly one month after releasing their debut as a duo, the Mars Volta axeman Omar Rodriguez Lopez and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante have dropped yet another free LP… sort of.
While their last collaboration consisted solely of the pair, Omar Rodriguez Lopez got a full quartet together this time around for an 8-part, instrumental set called Sepulcros De Miel.
Aside from the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quartet’s eponymous leader, this lineup consists of Frusciante (his longtime co-conspirator), Mars Volta’s Marcel Rodriguez Lopez (Omar’s kid brother), and Juan Alderete De La Peña. Once again, the album is available to stream and/or download for free, but a donation can be made via a pay-what-you-want setup, which will benefit “Keep Music In Schools” programs.
