Direct Current reports that former Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age singer Mark Lanegan has once again teamed up with ex-Belle and Sebastian singer/cellist Isobel Campbell for the pair’s third album together, which, according to a listing for their September performance at Barbicon Hall, is titled Hawk.
For their follow-up to 2008’s Sunday at Devil Dirt, Lanegan and Campbell enlisted a few notable guests, including solo artist/Giant Sand collaborator Victoria Williams, ex-Smashing Pumpkins and current Tinted Windows guitarist James Iha, and (one of our favorite young folksingers) Willy Mason.
Hawk is set for release on August 24 in the U.S. via an as-yet-unknown label.
