Have no fear: we’re well aware that an Xtina post doesn’t mesh well with the usual fare around here, but add the great Kathleen Hanna and Le Tigre to the track and I just can’t help myself. It has been almost a year since news broke about Le Tigre’s teaming up with Christina Aguilera for her new M.I.A.-featuring album, Bionic, and their collaboration finally hit the Internets over the weekend: “I Hate Boys” should fare better in the blogosphere than Bionic‘s cringe-worthy debut single, “Not Myself Tonight.” Not only is the song packed to the brim with hooks, but I just can’t get enough of the ex-Bikini Kill frontwoman’s shouted bridge (around the 1-minute mark).
In other Le Tigre news, Hanna revealed recently on her blog that the band are prepping a live DVD, featuring “a tour film, performances, a little backstage stuff, that kind of thing.”
**Update: According to various sources, this song was not co-written by Le Tigre as previously reported. The liner notes we saw, however, indicated that Kathleen Hanna did provide vocals for the song. We will post another update once the Aguilera camp issues official information on the guest vocalist.
Anyways, without further ado, stream the “I Hate Boys” preview below:
