Buried deep in rapper E-40’s new epic 38-track album, Revenue Retrievin, producer Droop-E sampled Björk’s acapella album, Medulla, with unsurprisingly wild results. As The Fader reports (via Vulture), Björk’s name isn’t even mentioned in the official tracklist, but the unusual samples in “Spend the Night” were, in fact, cleared by the Icelandic singer earlier this year.
Pretty sure any attempt to describe this track would result in a downpour of music blogger cliché’s, so I’ll save myself the embarrassment. One thing I will say, however, is that though we’re new to E-40’s music around here, Michel Gondry and Björk should recruit him for their team of musical scientists.
