It has only been a few weeks since we were talking about Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein and her upcoming side-projects, when, lo and behold, co-frontwoman Corin Tucker has made an exciting announcement to the Portland Mercury: her 11-song debut solo album will be released later this year via former S-K label Kill Rock Stars.
Tucker and producer Seth Lorinczi are recording the album at Portland’s Little Golden Book Studio with hopes “to finish recording and mixing by June, and then hopefully put the record out in October.”
“I think some of the songs are in the ballpark [as Sleater-Kinney],” Tucker says in this exciting interview, which our friends at CoS uncovered late tonight. “Same singer, same writer, you know? It’s definitely my voice and my songwriting style.”
