Despite Andrew Fetterly Wilkes-Krier’s penchant for publicity stunts, we are really liking this story: “It’s time to let you hear the song which earned me a juvenile restraining order,” wrote W.K in an op-ed in the Guardian earlier today. “I’ve never let anyone hear this song before. I’m deeply humiliated and embarrassed at the thought of anyone hearing it… I shouldn’t do this.”
Please. Do go on.
The song in question, “My Destiny,” was written/recorded by Monsieur W.K. at 17 years old about his crush on a young female classmate, and we can’t decide if it’s simply an intense adolescent infatuation perhaps misinterpreted by a lady love—or just a little psycho. Probably a little of both. At any rate, this is the stuff love songs are made of: persistence, stalking, and… “electric blankets”?
