It looks like Jack White and company’s plans have changed a bit with regard to their forthcoming second LP. Though White told Triple J radio early last month that the Dead Weather’s new album “should be out in April,” following the first single “Blue Blood Blues,” the actual release date, as per Entertainment.ie (via Antiquiet) appears to be May 7 in Ireland (likely the 11th in the U.S.).
As we suspected in our post about their upcoming Floria Sigismondi-directed music video, the band’s choice for the first single has also changed. According to an Amazon listing, the first single will, in fact, be “Die By The Drop,” accompanied by b-side “Old Mary.” You can listen to a 30-second clip of both songs, which are due out next week (Mar. 23), here.
**Update: Reps for the band told Rolling Stone that Amazon’s release date for the single is incorrect. Meanwhile, we do have confirmation from TMR as to the official physical release date coming soon. Stay tuned…
And finally (for now), the presumed album title, Sea of Cowards, and teaser artwork were just posted by the band.
