Here are a few notable bits from today’s queue…
- DiG!/We Live in Public director Ondi Timoner has teamed up with actress Eliza Dushku to produce a biopic about photographer and Patti Smith friend/collaborator/muse Robert Mapplethorpe. The film, titled The Perfect Moment, is set to star Dushku’s brother Nate.
- Will Oldham, aka Bonnie “Prince” Billy, isn’t playing Pickathon 2010 with the Cairo Gang just for the fun of it. Turns out they have a new album to promote, yay!
- Perhaps this is olds by now, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around the all-time top 10 songs sold on iTunes (out of 10 billion!) until this visual aid brought some much-needed clarity to the issue. Boom.
- Jealous Girlfriends member and now Dave Sitek-produced solo artist Holly Miranda covered Tool’s “Ænema.” Watch/listen/learntoswim.
- Finally, Björk wrote a letter in memoriam to her former friend/collaborator, the late Lee Alexander McQueen. Read it here.
