We’re still praying that Jesse Malin’s side project with Ryan Adams and Johnny T. Yerington gets an official release at some point, but a new solo album from the ex-D Generation frontman and a handful of tour dates should tide us over until then.
Malin revealed this morning that his 4th solo studio album (of original material), Love It To Life, is officially in the can and set for an April 27, 2010 release date. As previously reported, the album is produced by Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Lucero, Flogging Molly), and was recorded at Sonic Youth’s Think Tank Studio in Hoboken, NJ. It will be his first release on new label Side One Dummy Records, as well as his first with new backing band St. Mark’s Social.
Gogol Bordello, whose new Rick Rubin-produced album will be released on the same day, will take Malin out on the road for a string of spring tour dates following his residency at NYC’s Bowery Electric, which is co-owned by Malin and Johnny T, where the mysterious St. Mark’s Social will make their debut.
For the NYC dates go here and for the Gogol Bordello dates check back shortly; we will add them here later today.
