Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch’s new DVD distribution/subscription service, Oscilloscope, has picked up the rights to release Where the Wild Things Are director Spike Jonze’s and Lance Bangs’ Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait Of Maurice Sendak, a documentary about the famed writer/illustrator, which previously aired on HBO and is now set for DVD release on March 2 (the same day that Wild Things comes out), reports Screen Daily.
“Maurice Sendak and the Beastie Boys are two major influences in my life,” said Jonze, who directed classic Beasties videos for “Root Down” and “Sabotage,” “so it’s perfect to be doing this documentary about Maurice with Yauch. It’s one of those full circle-circle things.”
