Whether you’re a Flaming Lips fan or not, it’s safe to say you’d have a great time celebrating New Year’s Eve (or any holiday really) with the pseudo-psychedelic rockers. But if you’re like me, and weren’t able to make the drive to Oklahoma City for this/last year’s “Freakout,” the band have uploaded a couple fun consolation prizes to their official YouTube channel.
The first is a 1-minute time-lapse video of the entire event, starting from the building of the stage setup and ending amidst the broken balloon-ridden aftermath. Watch it here or below.
If you really want to get a feel for what it was like in the room during the countdown to midnight and subsequent partying, the Flaming Lips have also uploaded a multi-camera shot video of the New Year’s balloon drop and “The Process” performance. It includes footage from the stage, audience, and the front row, so you get a good idea about all the controlled chaos that we missed.
Watch the balloon drop/”The Process” here or below.
