A few messages from Antony have popped up on the official Antony and the Johnsons site recently, and though they consist of mostly light fare (Whitney Houston shout-outs, new album teases, etc.), yesterday’s post (via The Music Slut) took on a much more serious subject: hate crimes in Iraq.
Antony cites a truly shocking Guardian article, which discusses escalating violence in Iraq against gay people, including the murder and/or torture of hundreds. The piece is very disturbing, so I won’t quote it here, but I do suggest checking it out. Here’s what Antony has to say:
