When we heard rumors about some dude accusing Bruce Springsteen of having an affair with his wife, we immediately put the chicken fingers down and stepped back from the guacamole dip. Upon further inspection, however, the story was way too gossipy (not that we won’t post gossip in the future) and The Boss has been suspiciously accused of being a homewrecker before. Now that Bruce has officially denied both affairs, we can safely throw this one into the “non-troversy” pile.
Springsteen’s rep told NJ.com that the statement he made in 2006 on his site can be applied to the current story. That statement read: “However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn’t pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years — the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married.”
So unless The Boss gets subpoenaed or changes his story, there’s nothing to see here. I mean, the guy was the only one not lip-synching at the Super Bowl. Leave Bruce alone!
