If you’re going to give a Joaquin-style interview and disparage Canadian fans, don’t do it the day before you’re playing Toronto’s Massey Hall. Undercover reports that Billy Bob Thornton was booed at the famous venue last night while trying to address his cantankerous interview with Q radio from the previous day.
“Boo all you want, but I want to say something,” he said. “We’re really happy to be here, but I need to say something. I talked to this asshole yesterday. I sat down and talked with this guy. He and his producers say, `We promise you we won’t say that’. The very first thing they said was that. I don’t really like sensationalism. If you look someone in the eyes and promise them something, and you don’t do it, you don’t get the interview. That’s the way it goes.”
Billy Bob wants Boxmasters fans to sympathize with his reaction to broken promises made by the radio station, but when it’s coming from a lauded actor and director, “you don’t do it, you don’t get the interview” sounds a lot more like the Soup Nazi’s “No soup for you!”
So now Bad Santa will probably be mad at us for using that “a” word he doesn’t like, but shouldn’t he be thankful we didn’t use that other “a” word?
