Comedian Russell Brand and Oasis’ Noel Gallagher have teamed up for a new football radio talk show on TalkSport, a network based in the UK. The deal marks a radio comeback for Brand, who was forced to resign from Radio 2 amidst a prank call scandal last year. Brand also writes a regular football column for the Guardian.
On his Twitter, Brand joked about his new radio show that has yet to be publicly announced. “Let’s hope Noel doesn’t get me into trouble/wouble,” he wrote, punning on the name of his autobiography, My Booky Wook, which lands in the U.S. next week.
“Me and Gallagher will turn TalkSport into the fulcrum of the revolution. If we can just get Wossy to come on as a guest, a new dawn will rise,” Brand added. “Wossy” is referring to Jonathan Ross, another radio and television personality in the UK who was embroiled in the same prank call scandal as Brand last year.
