In an interview with the Daily Mail, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz spit out quite a few interesting revelations about himself, including saying, “If I didn’t have a baby I’d have a chimp,” “I’d sooner go bald than get fat,” “My recurring nightmare is finding that Johnny Depp has joined our band,” and this choice bit about his phobia of either being murdered or murdering others:
“I used to think that some day I’d end up murdering a close friend or relative. Now it’s reversed and I’m convinced it’s going to happen to me. That’s the way I’m going out, I’m completely sure of it. So I refuse to answer the front door – it greatly minimises that risk.”
Wentz, who has a newborn baby with his wife, singer/actress Ashlee Simpson, doesn’t specify the motives one would have for killing him or why he thought he would murder one of his own friends and relatives, but he does describe how his fame has ruined friendships. “Sometimes you have to let friends go, and it’s never easy,” Wentz said. “But my coat-tails are only so long. They’ll only take so much weight.”
