A few years ago, Patrick Wolf got “involved in some dodgy satanic sex games” in a town outside of Los Angeles, leaving him both homesick and inspired to write a new song. His first single “Vulture,” from his forthcoming album The Bachelor, was born out of that experience and the music video, that drops tonight on his MySpace, visually recreates aspects of the event with Wolf “semi-naked [and] writhing in a full S&M, bondage outfit.”
Wolf described the song’s original to Electroqueer earlier this month, saying “I became obsessed with vultures and desert creatures after long drives in the Arizona desert and very soon the summer forest fires came to town via the Santa Ana winds. After a week of exhaustion, hedonism and self destructive tendencies I was begging to see England, innocence and for a vulture to come down and take all the dead parts off my body so I could feel alive and brand new again.”
The single won’t be available for purchase until April 20, but the music video (see photo still above) will appear exclusively on MySpace at 9pm (GMT) tonight. “Get ready to get hot under the (dog) collar,” Wolf’s blog reads.
