T-Mix, aka Tristan Jones, has filed a lawsuit against Cash Money Records for royalties on his alleged production work on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter II and Birdman’s 5 * Stunna. Hiphopdx reports that Jones claims he made a deal with Cash Money in 2005 that enlisted him for programming, arranging, and mixing duties. His work on recordings from before 2007 would allegedly entitle him to production royalties that have not been paid.
Jones concedes that he has received $187,000 dollars in payments from the New Orleans record label, but his lawsuit claims he is still owed up to $2.25 million.
