VH1 is bringing back their popular music documentary series “Behind the Music” and so far Lil Wayne and Scott Weiland are the only acts to sign up for two of the ten planned new episodes. The Live Feed reports VH1 was reminded of the show’s sustained popularity since it stopped regularly airing episodes back in 2002 when a special New Kids on the Block “Behind the Music” special aired last year.
“It felt like the time is right,” VH1’s Jeff Olde said. “There’s all sorts of new artists on the scene who have emerged and have these great stories. And there’s other artists that we always wanted to do the first time around.”
Lil Wayne’s biography as a child rap prodigy growing up on the mean streets of New Orleans (not to mention his problems with drug addiction), should provide a fruitful “rags to riches” narrative for the show’s producers.
