Michael Jarvis and Sam Martin, singers for LA-based band Iglu & Hartly, were so excited to be at SXSW that they partied like rock stars, stripping off their clothes and running amok at one of Austin’s Hilton hotels. The Statesman reports that police were called at 2:45 am on Thursday morning when a security guard was allegedly assaulted by Jarvis while hotel staff were trying to convince the pair to put their clothes back on and to stop playing a piano on the sixth floor.
Security guard Robert Rios was allegedly punched three times in the face by Jarvis before wrestling him to the ground. When police arrived, Jarvis was arrested and charged with felony assault on a public servant and later released on $7,500 bail.
Iglue & Hartly were set to perform two concerts later that day at the Universal Republic showcase and the Manatt showcase. It’s unclear at this time if the major label signed group, which recently played the Late Night with Carson Daly, were able to make their scheduled performances.
