Arabian Prince, aka Kim Nazel, filed a lawsuit on Monday against Ruthless Records, the company that licensed his music to produce Fergie’s number one hit “Fergalicious.” Allhiphop reports Nazel claims he has not been paid proper royalties for the portion of the license he gave to Fergie’s production team to use his song “Supersonic.”
Nazel also claims that Ruthless Records have failed to compensate him for his production work on many N.W.A. hits, including “Straight Outta Compton” and “F*ck The Police.” Arabian Prince was an original member and key collaborator in the group when it formed in 1986 with Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E and others.
Fergie’s second album, The Dutchess, topped the charts in 2006 and 2007, with “Fergalicious” selling almost 3 million copies.
