Estelle Bennett of the 1960s girl group The Ronettes has passed away at her home in Englewood, NJ at the age of 67. Bennett, her sister Ronnie Spector, née Veronica Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley are famous for dozens of hit songs produced by Phil Spector, including “Be My Baby,” “Baby I Love You, “ and “(The Best Part of) Breakin’ Up.”
The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, AP reports. The fact alone that both the Rolling Stones and The Beatles cited them as a major influence means they were certainly one of the most important musical groups of all time.
