Prince Covers Beatles and Jimmy Eat World at Oscar Party

The set list from Prince’s all-night Oscar party is making its way to the Internet, as the lucky attendees are still waking up. Late yesterday, news broke that anyone could attend the Oscar bash, as it would be first come first serve at L.A.’s Avalon for $100 admission. A line immediately formed, and Entertainment Weekly reports that the band took the stage at almost 2:00AM.

Although Prince played lots of original classics, such as “Cream,” it was his cover songs that stole the show. Prince covered The Beatles’ “Come Together,” Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle,” The Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Women,” Tommy James and the Shondells’ “Crimson and Clover,” The Cars’ “Let’s Go,” Chaka Khan’s “I Feel For You,” Richard Strauss’ epic “Sprach Zarathustra,” EW reports.

As we previously reported, Prince decided to throw his Oscar bash when actress Marion Cotillard sent an RSVP for the then-fictional party. Prince reportedly filmed the performance and plans to release it exclusively on his new site, Lotusflow3r.com.
