Lisa Moorish, the mother of two British rock stars’ children, says Pete Doherty is a better father to both children, even though her daughter Molly, 10, is Liam Gallagher’s biological daughter.
“Pete’s a very good father,” Moorish told Hello! Magazine. “He wasn’t very hands-on when Astile was younger but now he’s very involved. We do a lot of things together: long walks, trips to football, to the pub to play pool with the children.” Astile, 5, is the son of Doherty and Moorish, who was the singer for the band Kill city.
“Liam is there for Molly in so far as he helps support her and would be there for us if we needed him,” Moorish says about the Oasis lead singer. “But is he involved with her on a daily basis? Then the answer to that is no. I hope in time they’ll form a relationship… He’d be really proud of her.”
It turns out that Pete Doherty, who is notorious for his drug and legal problems, has turned his life around quite a bit. Moorish says Doherty is very enthusiastic about fathering both of her children, adding, “Molly has a great relationship with him too. He told her, ‘I’m your stepdad and there for you.’ I love him for that. She feels security from him, which is nice as, emotionally, she doesn’t get that from her own dad.”
