A few weeks ago, Trent Reznor ranted about how his former label Interscope roadblocked his plans to film a 3D concert film with Titanic director James Cameron’s team for theater, DVD, and BluRay release. Reznor claimed he had “achieved the impossible by finding alternate production” on his own dime and then promptly quit touring.
Well, Reznor isn’t going to let this Cameron project sink on a measly ol’ iceberg – he decided to leak it like an animal:
“I was contacted by a mysterious, shadowy group of subversives who SOMEHOW managed to film a substantial amount (over 400 GB!) of raw, unedited HD footage from three separate complete shows of our ‘Lights in the Sky’ tour. Security must have been lacking at these shows because the quality of the footage is excellent.”
NIN photographer and video director Rob Sheridan promptly posted the files on the band’s message board here. Kind of anti-climactic, but it’s a helluva for a man with a juicer.
