The Dr. Dre final mix of 50 Cent’s new (comeback?) single, “I Get It In,” hit the web yesterday and it sounds a lot like his breakthrough hit, “In Da Club,” only a little more bizarre. Bizarro to be exact.
First the beat: Nice and steady (the alleged harbinger of financial turmoil), handclaps as snare drums (come on everybody! Fiddy’s here!), and if you play the track in reverse, you won’t get “Paul is Dead,” but you might get “I ain’t into making love.”
Then there’s the Death Row shout out: “Now me I’m the life of the party / A little bit of juice a little bit of gin,” he says, flipping around the Snoop/Dre hit “Gin ‘N Juice.” 50 Cent does the same thing on “In Da Club,” shouting out another Snoop/Dre hit, “The Chronic,” with the early nineties catch phrase, “Gs up, hoes down.”
It’s no wonder 50 Cent wants to get the same ingredients together that produced Get Rich or Die Trying, which sold 18 million copies, but let’s not forget that the Superman of Earth will ultimately prevail over Bizzaro Superman.
You can grab the track from Nah Right here, or if you’re at a non-Fiddy-friendly workplace you can read the lyrics here.
