Conservative Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has continued his hostility with rappers by criticizing an edited video from one of the many inaugural parties. The video consists of two 15-second clips in which Young Jeezy celebrates the man who threw his shoes at former President Bush and Jay-Z sings “no more white lies” from his new song “My President is Black.”
O’Reilly says he doesn’t “know much about Young Jeezy. It is possible he will appear on The Factor,” but Jay-Z “should know better.” Radio talk show host and former SNL cast member Dennis Miller then joins O’Reilly and the pair characterize the clips as “hate speech.”
Bill O’Reilly has baited hip hop stars before, including a 2002 call for the boycott of all Pepsi products because Ludacris was hired as a spokesperson. More recently, rapper Nas has been a vocal critic of O’Reilly and Fox News, protesting outside their studio with boxes of signed petitions that state Fox News correspondents have made racist comments on the air without retraction. Nas also took on the network in his song “Sly Fox.”
