David Buckner was the drummer for Papa Roach until December 24th of last year, when the band, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ, “advised Buckner that they no longer considered him a regular performing member of the Group.”
Now Buckner is getting revenge in a lawsuit filed two weeks before the anniversary of his Christmas Eve ousting. In the lawsuit, Buckner claims the band received loans from their record company and other establishments for music recording and promotion under the guise of the LLC he created with the band over a decade ago. However, Buckner alleges the band finagled their income, such as royalties, in a way to cut him out of his rightly owed compensation.
The boys who wrote the big hit “Broken Home” are in the middle of their own messy divorce with Buckner’s suit claiming his relationship with the band is now “strained and antagonistic.” Buckner wants all the compensation he feels the band has kept from him and not only that: He wants “to dissolve Papa Roach.”
To paraphrase, he saying, “Merry X-Mas! If I’m going down, you’re coming down with me.”
