Vincent Moon is the director of The Takeaway Shows, an internet music video series with bands performing live in public or unusual places. The sound quality and intimacy of the performances are sometimes startling. Moon’s success capturing live moments for The National, Arcade Fire, and many more has helped him score a gig shooting recent official music videos for R.E.M. and now apparently a concert film for Arcade Fire.
Pitchfork reports, an upcoming Arcade Fire film, “Miroir Noir will feature live footage from the Neon Bible tour.” There are no details or release dates beyond that, but the band has set up one of their trademark cryptic websites for rolling out their next project at miroir-noir.com.
Meanwhile, David Byrne recently leaked news that Arcade Fire is demoing their next album. No details on that yet, but I’m sure a spooky flash site will be available for speculation asap.
