Celebrating the recent 12” vinyl re-release of her debut, Strange Cacti, Angel Olsen performed a string of shows in New York City last week, including a solo set at a record store that was dutifully caught on video by a YouTube user. For many, myself included, this is our first listen to Strange Cacti favorites like “Some Things Cosmic” and “If It’s Alive, It Will” in a live context, in which the strength of Olsen’s ’60s folk and pop music-invoking voice shines even more than on the record. You can buy the album here, and enjoy two excellent clips below alongside the new Randy Sterling Hunter-directed official video for opening track “Tiniest Lights.”
