Video: R. Kelly Joins Phoenix @ Coachella

We’ve spun this Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix single almost as many times as the number in its title, and yet it never once occurred that “1901” might work as a mashup with R. Kelly’s “Ignition.” Even less likely, though, is that it would be the biggest highlight from Coachella so far, as Kelly himself co-fronted the French indie-rock outfit’s headlining set over the weekend. In addition to the “190Ignition” jam, the surprise performance segued into Phoenix’s new Bankrupt! cut “Chloroform” with Kelly adding vocals from his own “I’m a Flirt.” Without further ado, watch official footage from the event above.
