Josh Ritter took his band and fine new record, The Beast In Its Tracks, down to Austin this week to share a few new cuts and old favorites at SXSW. The LP takes were beautiful and heartbreaking enough in raw studio form, but more props are due to Ritter for pouring his heart out in person and on air. While quality clips of his SXSW gigs haven’t yet surfaced, WFUV — whose sessions get mentioned often in these pages — caught some moving moments akin to what audiences witnessed in Austin.
