The full Drive Soundtrack is undoubtedly one of the best sets of music for film of the year so far, but one song, in particular, stands out: “Nightcall,” the seductive, electro-pop slow jam that opens and closes the film. While the tune’s main credit goes to French musician Kavinsky, his co-stars on the track, CSS’ Lovefoxxx and co-producer Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk fame, bring the song — and movie — to another level. The tune wasn’t composed specifically for the film (it first dropped last year and also appeared in The Lincoln Lawyer, which was scored by Drive’s Cliff Martinez), so it won’t be up for an Oscar, but nonetheless, let’s revisit this undeniable gem above.
